Nicolas Bonnefoy is VP – Legal and Commercial at Stonechair Capital Corp, a private equity firm based in Calgary, London and Hong-Kong. Stonechair, which is managed by CEO Christopher McLean, recently launched #EnergyAfrica, a fund dedicated to investments in the energy sector in Africa.

Nicolas is an oil, gas and mining consultant and lawyer, who has provided strategic advisory and M&A legal and tax services in Africa over the past 20 years. Dual-qualified (France and England & Wales), Nicolas was a partner and co-head of Oil & Gas at South African law firm Bowmans in Johannesburg and a partner at English law firm Ashurst in London. Nicolas is fluent in French (native language) and in English. He lived in West Africa for 7 years and has travelled extensively in Africa.
