Amaechi is head of The Africa Business Group and Energy and Natural Resources Leader for Grant Thornton UK. As a seasoned corporate finance practitioner, he provides debt advisory and financial restructuring services to corporates, lenders and stakeholders in syndicated and high-profile debt situations. Amaechi has recently completed a successful debt raise on behalf of a UK listed ENR company with operations in Africa and head office in London and provided strategic advice to a key oil and gas regulatory body in Nigeria around the existing local content regulations.

Amaechi is a renowned speaker and thought leadership publisher on African financial restructuring and the Oil and Gas sector. He has been a sector panellist on both the inaugural West Africa Energy Assembly in Lagos and the Africa / UK oil and gas seminar in Aberdeen. Amaechi’s views contrasting the insolvency landscape in Nigeria and the UK were recently published in the INSOL Business Restructuring & Insolvency Report. He was also one of the selected sector delegates chosen to represent the UK at a recently completed West Africa oil and gas trade mission to Ghana and Nigeria.
