Bas has nearly 30 year of experience in the E&P business, with a focus on global exploration and development at Shell, Woodside, Nexen and CNOOC.  He has diverse exposure to mature basins and frontier settings with a strong passion for application of geophysical technology in de-risking opportunities.  Bas has led numerous, multi-disciplinary teams in Australia, The Netherlands and UK.  Previously, he has been the Director of Developments for Nexen UK, and has been a member of Nexen’s European Management team for the last 7 years. In his current role, Bas leads the exploration and appraisal teams for Europe and Africa, is a member of the CNOOC International Exploration Leadership Team, and is actively involved in growing CNOOC’s exposure to target basins in Europe and Africa.
