How did you come to be in the energy industry?
I have always been fascinated by the size, technology and spirit of the industry. It was my goal from starting university to join the energy industry for my career path.
What do you believe is the greatest challenge to our industry’s future growth?
I’m not concerned for the growth of the overall energy industry, however, some segments will have larger challenges than other. The success of the different modes of energy ultimately depends on competitiveness, climate impact and governmental regulations.
Where do you see the greatest opportunity in today’s global energy markets and how are you positioned to capture this opportunity?
With a focused company towards the energy sector, and offices across the globe, I think we are well positioned to continue growing, like we have done in every year since 2009. There are many interesting opportunities arising within E&P and OFS now that market sentiment is improving. In this region I think gas market developments will be interesting to follow over the next years. Longer term I also see large possibilities within the renewable energy sources.
If you could wave a magic wand over our industry, what would you change and why
I would simplify the documentation requirements for many parts of construction and operations. In addition I would unify standards to bring down cost and make upstream projects more competitive.
