Griffin Perry, Co-Founder and Managing Director at Grey Rock Energy Partners joins us to talk about how Grey Rock have built up a portfolio of about $500 million AUM since their inception back in 2013 around a strategy of investing primarily in non-operated working interests. During the course of this episode, Griffin talks about the advantages of adopting a non-op investment approach, and how this strategy allows them to maximise their investments while also protecting themselves against potential downside. He also discusses the different ways in which investors are getting creative to find more optionality around the exit in the current climate, such as through securitizations and SPACs.

Griffin Perry Professional Bio
Griffin Perry is a Co-Founder and Managing Director at Grey Rock Energy Partners, and he is a member of the Investment Committee. At Grey Rock, Mr. Perry focuses on controls, investor relations, risk management, and day-to-day operations. Using his strong financial background coupled with extensive national personal networks, Mr. Perry seeks to keep the pulse of what investors are looking for to make Grey Rock a stronger vehicle. Further, Mr. Perry assists in origination and portfolio management of the Partnership’s assets.
Previously, Mr. Perry was the President of Caddis Energy, an oil and gas investment company that partnered with industry leaders to raise capital and develop a pipeline of business focusing on both operated and non-operated oil and gas properties. From 2007-2012, Mr. Perry worked as a financial advisor with UBS and Deutsche Bank. During his tenure, Mr. Perry worked to grow assets under management from $300 million to $500 million. He is also a Board Member of the Cotton Bowl.
Mr. Perry holds a BA in economics and history from Vanderbilt University and attended the London School of Economics.
